Food can be divided into 3 categories

  1. Energy-giving foods

    1. These food give us energy
    2. We need energy to work and play
    3. Food rich in carbohydrates
    4. Example : Rice, sugar, cooking oil, bread etc
  2. Body-building foods

    1. These food help our bones, teeth and muscles to grow strong.
    2. They help you grow.
    3. They are protein rich food
    4. Milk, nuts, pulses, chicken,eggs etc
  3. Protective foods

    1. These food protect us from falling ill and helps us to remain healthy and strong.
    2. Fresh fruits and vegetables.

Milk is called the complete food  because of its rich content of protein, fat, carbohydrates, all known vitamins and various minerals.

Healthy eating habits

  1. Always eat a balanced diet ie different type of food in right quantities.
  2. Eat meals at regular intervals
  3. Eat fresh food only
  4. Drink plenty of water. It helps to clean our body system.
  5. Always was your hands before and after a meal.
  6. Avoid eating uncovered street food
